A full screen capture from the Explore.org/YouTube livestream of the Brown Bears at Brooks Falls in Katmai National Park, Alaska. Each year dozens of bears gather on the Brooks River, and especially at the falls, to feast on the salmon as they make their annual spawning run. This is the eleventh year the livestream has been available. This image is of the yearling cub of bear 910, and the 2.5 year old cub of her sister 909, whom she adopted after 909 emancipated her earlier in the year. This is the second of two confirmed instances of a female adopting another bear's cub in the Brooks Falls area. Image was captured July 27th, 2023.
